  • After premium number rip off comments on this page I am really worried this one would sting my bill. It showed up as a "missed call" and I was silly enough to hit call back. I thought it looked somewhat unusual. Shall ignore all "070" numbers in future!

  • No response on answering, a brief check later and the number is a premium rate (i.e. they get money if you call them).Almost certainly a scam to get people to call back and rake money in.

  • Be very careful about this number. Numbers beginning with 070 are not mobiles, as you might think. They are part of the "call me anywhere" service. The charge is 50p per minute from BT landlines and more from mobiles. It's not actually a scam, because the owner of that number does not make anything out of it, but just be aware that you will be paying a very steep charge if you call them. If they cannot give you a "normal" number - one that begins with 01 or 02 - just don't call them back.

  • Missed this call on my mobile - not going to ring it back as 070 prefix is probably a scam to phone a premium rate number. If they call back i'll answer and see if they say anything.Anyone else had this number call them?

  • Don't know who it is, but you were wise not to answer it. Numbers starting with 070 are not normal mobile numbers (as you would assume), but are charged at anything up to 50p per minute. If it's that urgent, they can ring you again.
