  • Same scenario as the comments on 407-000-4712. Looked suspicious on caller id today, 5/27/09. 2:25 Pacific time. "Virtual receptionist" first offering a lower interest rate on Visa or Mastercard, maybe as low as 6%, then a live male came on. I asked him which issuing bank he was with, and he kept repeating "Visa and Mastercard." When I insisted he tell me *which* Visa or Mastercard, he became agitated. Then he asked me for my name and I said "No, you tell me yours." Then he said "Are you even the actual cardholder?" I said, "You need to answer my questions before we proceed." He then said "Lady, I'm not getting into a battle of wits with you. Please hold." Then the call was cut off.

  • Interesting, these calls from the 564 area code. 564 is proposed area code to overlay the other area codes in western Washington, but has not been implemented yet. Obviously they are spoofing the caller ID info to deceive thos they call.
